The Ambedkar Internet TV is the representative body for the community broadcasting sector and is committed to promoting access to the media for people and communities. We enable people to establish and develop community-based communications media for empowerment, cultural expression, information and entertainment. Our objectives are to increase recognition of community radio and other forms of community media (including online radio and television, free to air community and local television and community film makers) as an important delivery agent for local aspirations on increasing volunteering, education and employment opportunities; improving local accountability and democracy; increasing community cohesion, safety and understanding and inter-cultural and inter-generational communication; reducing the digital divide through providing access to media & production skills; and support and to increase the ability of the sector to respond to the needs of their communities. The Ambedkar Internet TV works to achieve our Charter’s objectives by: advocating and representing the sector to national and regional government, regulatory bodies including copyright bodies, other media, volunteering and third sector organisations; and by providing advice and support to members on a wide range of issues, from governance and finance. We are just an awareness creating group about social issues inspired by the thoughts of Great Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. We accept support in the form of volunteers, donations, fellowship supports and small grant support for effective work with socially excluded communities. We gather the news and films as we search the web and present them to our viewers. We adhere to all copyright laws and honour the wishes of the producers. We created Ambedkartv.com because we wanted to find an easy way to bring thought-provoking, educational, and entertaining media to anyone with an Internet connection. We believe that the mainstream media increasingly practices self-censorship, and that it ignores many opinions and historical events. With the media distorting or ignoring information, it’s often very hard to get an accurate picture of a problem, even while watching the news. While some of the news and films on our site have widespread distribution, others are created by independent filmmakers who depend on sites like ours to get their information to the public. Different articles create different reactions among different people. There will be aspects of the articles and films in which you may disagree or agree but it will get you thinking.
